Frequently Asked Questions
How do virtual sessions work?
All sessions are held securely online through a HIPAA-compliant video platform. You’ll receive a private link before your appointment, and you can join from a phone, tablet, or computer in a quiet, private space. Virtual therapy offers comfort, flexibility, and consistent care — especially for clients in rural areas.
What ages do you work with?
I work with individuals ages 12 and up, including teens and adults. For adolescents, I create a safe, supportive space to explore emotions, build coping skills, and strengthen communication — while collaborating with parents when helpful and appropriate.
Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
Yes, I offer limited evening and Saturday availability to accommodate school and work schedules. Please reach out to see what times are currently open.
What can I expect in a first session?
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, go over your goals, and begin building a supportive, collaborative relationship. You're welcome to ask questions and share at your own pace — there's no pressure to have it all figured out.
Do you accept insurance or offer superbills?
Yes, I currently accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Cigna, Magellan, and United Healthcare.
If you have a different insurance provider, I can also process out-of-network claims on your behalf or provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. If you’re unsure about your coverage, I’m happy to guide you through verifying your benefits before we begin.
How do I book a session?
You can easily request an appointment here. Just click on the “Request Appointment” button to submit your information. I will contact you back as soon as I can to discuss available times. If you prefer, you can contact me at (254) 390-9243 to speak with me by phone. If you’re unsure where to start, I also offer a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
Do you include parents in teen therapy?
Yes, when working with minors, I encourage open communication with parents or caregivers as it supports the therapy process. While sessions are confidential, I provide general updates and guidance as appropriate, always respecting the teen’s privacy and autonomy.
Is faith/spirituality part of the therapy?
It can be, if you’d like it to be. I offer space for clients who want to incorporate their faith, values, or spiritual beliefs into therapy. This might look like praying through a hard season, finding meaning in struggles, or simply approaching healing from a spiritual perspective. That said, I also welcome clients who do not identify with any faith — therapy is always centered on your values, your goals, and your comfort.
