Working with Minors & Caregivers
When working with minors, I partner with both the child and their caregiver to support growth and healing. Depending on the situation, we may begin with a parent session to gather background information and align on goals.
The first session (and sometimes the first two) with the child focuses on building rapport and establishing a sense of safety and trust. As therapy progresses, I provide caregivers with general updates while honoring the child’s privacy, which is essential for maintaining a strong therapeutic relationship.
If any safety concerns arise, caregivers are involved immediately.
Therapy is most effective when we work collaboratively, supporting your child while also empowering you as a parent.
